So – for you to be completely aware of your surroundings and have a clue on your next stop, we have prepared a 3-day itinerary for your vacation in Innsbruck. Naturally, it is recommended that you read this before getting off your airport transfer Innsbruck service.
The First Day
You’ll start the first day with a walk through Innsbruck’s Old Town, discovering its history and architecture. You definitely have to visit the city’s landmark, the Goldenes Dachl, which is covered with exactly 2,657 tiles.
Then, for your daily dose of exercise, you can take the 148 steps that lead to the Stadtturn City Tower – this 15th-century building announces the time of day and alerts the city of any dangers.
For more history, stop and visit the Imperial Apartments and Exhibitions of the Hofburg Imperial Palace. Right near this location, you can find the Hofkirche Court Church, home to one of the most important cultural monuments of Tirol – 28 larger-than-life bronze figures that surround the tomb of Emperor Maximilian I.
The Second Day
You can start your second day by visiting the Bergisel hill, located in the south of the city – here you can find one of the city’s architectural wonders, the Bergisel Olympic Ski Jump Tower, designed by Zaha Hadid.
If you are accompanied by your significant other, it is recommended that you visit Schloss Ambras as well – the 16th-century formation features a lower and an upper castle, which features the remains of a beautiful medieval castle as well, forests and gardens included.
To get closer to Innsbruck, you can end the day with a Tirolean Evening – namely, yodel-songs and folk dances. Moreover, for a traditional Tyrolean dinner, you can always visit Gasthaus Sandwirt, at 7:30 pm.
The Final Day
The best is saved for last – namely, the Nordkette mountain range. To reach its top, which is at 6,500 feet from the Old Town, you can take the funicular and then the Nordkettebahn cable car; the ride is of approximately 20 minutes.
Once you reach the Seegrube, you’ll be astonished by the view of the city that now unveils below you.
When you are done with Nordkette, you can head back down and visit the Alpenzoo Alpine Zoo – the place shelters more than 2,000 animals and 150 species.
If you need a bit of relaxation at the end of your holiday, you can always make a stop at Innsbruck’s Alpine spas – the Lanserhof Lans and Park Igls.
